HOW IT WORKS
Bruno’s model of supervision stems from his training, with some additional elements that he feels are integral to the work. He applies his background experience in business, education and mental health to create a five-faceted approach to supervision:
- Normative – supporting you in understanding and following procedures, staying on top of your administrative responsibilities, and meeting the criteria you need according to your organizational body.
- Transformative – using the supervision space to help you grow and change, both professionally and personally. Helping you establish your needs as a therapist and how to meet them. Bruno believes that both supervisor and supervisee change/transform as a result of the supervisory relationship itself.
- Restorative – a safe harbour, supervision with Bruno is a non-judgmental space to explore your client work from a place of curiosity. Take time to step back and breathe within the pressures of your professional life.
- Inclusive – Difference and diversity are very important to how Bruno supervises, both in terms of the client work and the supervisory relationship itself. Drawing on his personal and professional experience working with difference, supervision can be a space where this is explored and addressed from a place of appropriate challenge.
- Creative – Sometimes we need to step out of ourselves and our routine. Where relevant, Bruno uses imaginative and creative exercises to take a fresh look at the work, and open the mind up to a playfully serious perspective.
