- An approach which adapts to your needs and preferences, but may include:
- Exploring and expressing difficult thoughts and feelings
- Better understanding yourself and the way you relate to others
- A focus on you as the client, as the expert on yourself
- Finding ways to cope and manage with challenging situations
- Looking at your past, and understanding your development
- Establishing your goals and finding ways to work towards them
- Exploring creative imagery, ideas and dreams
- Recommended: Weekly 50-minute sessions
- Online or face-to-face
- Languages: English and Brazilian Portuguese
HOW IT WORKS
Bruno firmly believes that you are the expert on yourself, and will enable you to better understand the way you relate to yourself and others. In addition, he will help you locate and strengthen your inner abilities to create the change you seek. His integrative approach allows exploration of the present, the past, or the future - according to your individual needs. To facilitate this, therapy with Bruno can include person-centered, psychodynamic, and behavioural elements:
- Person-Centred – believing that you are the expert on yourself, and counselling can help you increase your self-awareness and gain access to your internal resources, strengths, and skills. The counselling can move at the speed you wish, in the direction you want – with guidance, support and ideas when you need them.
- Psychodynamic – with a focus on what might be going on beneath the surface, counselling can help you explore the unseen and challenge your everyday conceptions, bringing insights into the way you perceive yourself and the world around you. This can include exploring your relationships, your past, and even your dreams.
- Behavioural – Commonly includes CBT, ACT, and similar approaches, Bruno can provide a set of tools and exercises to practically work with your needs and skills. This is more common in short-term work that is focused on specific goals, but elements can be relevant in longer-term therapy too.
